Brought to us by Christine Khandjian, this is a thoughtful tale telling the story of Sally McLaureen on her journey from the poverty and difficulties that had befallen Ireland to the hope of a better future in Boston. She and her fellow passengers and crew faced various difficulties and challenges on their trip over the Atlantic.
Christine played all of the characters, and did so in a clear and understandable manner, this is in the Fringe guide as a children’s show and I would say that it is also suitable for adults as it is a lovely performance.
The songs and music are well executed and quite haunting in places, the show also uses video footage very well to help depict the journey, these combined make it very easy to become immersed fully into the story.

Christine Khandjian makes her debuts at the Edinburgh Fringe with a sweet Celtic musical show that will please children and adults alike. Set at the time of the Great Irish famine, this is a tale about a girl called Sally McLaureen looking for a better life in the New World. Christine Khandjian’s inventive songs and ability to switch from one character to the other allow the audience to easily plunge into the story of Sally and follow her journey from Ireland to the United States, from poverty to hopes. It’s a lovely and imaginative creation accompanied by the beautiful voice of Christine Khandjian.
