In the year 1850, during the reign of The Great Famine of Ireland, the brave Sally
McLaureen, from Blarney, decides to flee her homeland for America and her second chance. Although she is aware of the minimal rations, the diseases on board, the rough waters ahead,
and a fifty-fifty chance of survival, she boards The Ship of Hope to reunite with her brother in Boston. Each day of the crossing she writes in her diary the stories of love, loss, rebirth,
and defense of human values that unfold during the expedition. While the incomparable
Captain Trevor O’Neill is at the helm, guiding the new immigrants across the Atlantic
toward their destinies, Irish music and spirit provide the strength to endure the journey.
This epic Celtic tale is a tribute to all people who leave their lands, bringing their traditions
and preserving faith and courage to believe in better days.
